Joshua tree Wedding Photographer

Welcome to Joshua Tree, the perfect sandy landscape of your dream wedding.

This national park is favored by numerous professional photographers, featuring beautiful boulder stacks and other rocky formations, canyons, cactus gardens and much more. It is also perfect for nighttime photo sessions, with starry skies which will make city lights look like tiny sparks.

Upon entering the park, you might enjoy firsthand an enriching experience: a pleasant drive amidst its scenic winding roads and hills, envisaging a remarkable extent of wilderness as profound as the naked eye can see.

It is a wonderful place with a distinguished landscape with a mystical feeling permeating the air, which is a perfect canvas for artists to paint with light and shadow.

For couples who want to be apart from the status quo, who love the great outdoors of the awe-inspiring Mojave is the perfect place for an elopement experience.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO GET MARRIED IN JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK

If you intend to elope or bring a small group of family & friends for your wedding ceremony, the barren scenery of the National Park provides a surprisingly beautiful background. Other than just beautiful, its price is very attractive. Upon designating the site for your wedding in the park, a permit costs only $120.

Please follow this link to apply for a wedding permit online ( Special Use Term – Permint). There are plenty of designated wedding sites such as Cap Rock, Live Oak, and Hidden Valley, featuring unique boulder stacks and Joshua Trees too. Before applying for a permit, please make sure to check on the website how many people and vehicles each site can accommodate.

PLACES TO STAY IN JOSHUA TREE - CALIFORNIA

Joshua Tree Wedding Photographer

Joshua Tree is renowned for having Airbnb’s with great reputation and even better accommodations.  The aforementioned mystical aura which is so appealing to photographers also draws the attention of other artists, including architects and designers, who project all kinds of lovely homes, ranch-style vintage houses and trailers, mixed with modern architecture which makes a perfect fusion with the arid landscape. Other than that, some of these places may be also be used as a venue for intimate receptions or outdoors dinners for small groups of close friends & family. These are some of the Airbnb’s which I recommend personally.

WHEN IS THE MOST ADEQUATE TIME TO VISIT JOSHUA TREE

As common sense goes, it’s well known that the Mojave becomes notably warmer during the summer. But I know for a fact that throughout Spring and Fall the weather is utterly pleasant. Between March and May, the cacti flowers bloom in a mighty splendor. The trademark Joshua Trees are beginning to bear fruits and the colorful desert vegetation becomes even more vivid. Given all these facts, Spring is the busiest time of the year in the park, as it is only reasonable.

During Summer the days are considerably hot, but the nights are significantly cold around sunset and after dark, due to the dryness of the desert.

The fall is great for photo shoots because as the temperatures go a bit down, the tourists become less attracted to visiting, so there’s more availability to the natural beauties of the park.

The winter is also very nice, albeit the nights may be a bit chilly, the dry sunny days are very appeasing. It’s also the best time of the year for group visitation and the most dates available for their high-demand campsites. It’s rare, but you might even catch one of the snowy days In the desert. This fact alone is worth trying your luck!

Mondays-Thursdays are the best weekdays for both weddings and elopements, to avoid the traffic boom from San Diego and LA.

SOME OF THE BEST WEDDING VENUES IN JOSHUA TREE - CALIFORNIA

The largest wedding venue in the National Park can accommodate only up to 100 people, so Joshua Tree might not be the best place for very big ceremonies. But the silver line here is that the private venues there convey the looks and feels of the landscapes present in the park.

These are my favorite locations:

Morada Joshua Tree  / Nowherecalifornia /  tumbleweedsanctuary / wheelhouserental / therimrockranch

Joshua tree1 (184)

Venue: tumbleweedsanctuary   /  Drinks: Thewateringhaul.com

WHAT ABOUT ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS IN JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK?

In order to take engagement photos in Joshua Tree, you’ll still need the same $120 permit used for a wedding. You’ll be able to enjoy the same locations, but the plus side is that engagement photo shoots are more relaxed. You will be able to move around more freely, take hikes or do picnic photos without the hassle of wearing your wedding attire and worrying about the ceremony.

BUT WHY THE MOJAVE DESERT?

After everything mentioned above, the real question now should be “Why not the Mojave Desert?”

As the icing of your proverbial cake, besides the attractions of the National Park itself, my roaming fee is fixed in only $30 instead of a costly variable fee based on miles traveled, which is the regular price policy of other photographers.
